Hello,
I'm going to become a weapons technician on the 8th of July and I was wondering if their training is done like the BMQ the reservists do on the weekend.
Or do I get shipped off to do full time training since Weapons technicians have such a long and complicated training process.
Thanks for the help.

Yes you get "shipped off" for 20 days of SQ than 35 Weeks of MOC in CFB Borden. But is this not a question for you recruiter?

BTW do you mean you are starting BMQ on the 8Th or are going in to enlist on the 8Th? Because you make it sound like you will finish MOC on the 8Th.

I get sworn in on the 8th of july
My unit does basic training starting September, but they do that over the course of 15 weekends I don't go anywhere for extended amounts of time.
I'll have to ask my recruiter if the same isn't true for my weapons tech training.
Thank you for your response.

You'll do your BMQ in unit lines, followed by SQ either at the unit part-time or at a training centre full-time.  Once those two are complete you will do your Wpn Tech course.

The Wpn Tech course will be full-time in Borden.  No exported delivery, as other sites lack the training aids and instructors.

EME Common at least used to be delivered at the unit level, and was taken along with a driver's course before vehicle techs and weapons techs would go on to QL3.

Not sure what they're up to if they're filling up the training calendar during the year with BMQ and SQ, though.

I was told recently by my recruiter that the EME Common course is completed at the home unit prior to further trades training.

I wasn't aware you could work as a weapons technician in the reserves. Which unit are you from?

Where can I get more information about this trade?

Yes Weapons Tech is a trade avail in the Reserves. Going by his avatar he is in/joining 12 SVC BN in Richmond, BC.

To get more info on the trade search the forums and/or visit the Canadian Forces Recruiting website.
