What does it mean by 031?

I am scrolling through some forums and i am finding alot of people are saying that they cant achieve a 031 or meeting a 031 prerequisitie. Can someone please fill me in on some info abou those letters.

031 is the MOC (Military Occupation Code) for Infantryman.  (MMR's link above is a great resource)
 
"031" is the old Military Occupation Code (trade number) for Infantry soldier.

It is now "00010".

Not to belabour the point, but "031" is the "MOC" (which is falling out of use).  00010 is the "MOS", unless I'm right out of 'er - which is a distinct possibility.
