What happens if I do not get an offer?

As a Reserve Officer candidate anxiously awaiting an offer, I am wondering what will happen to my application if I am not selected for my desired occupation? More specifically:

- Will the recruiting center notify me that I was not selected and that all positions have been filled?
- Could they give an offer for other positions within the Forces that I would be eligible for?

I am imagining it would simply be put on hold indefinitely, but any knowledge as to what happens if I am rejected would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

You are applying for a position in a 'specific' Reserve unit as an officer.  If that unit does not choose to select you to fill an officer position that they may have, you are DONE.  They may offer you the opportunity to join their unit as a NCM.  If not; they are under NO OBLIGATION to offer you a position in any other unit, and will not.

If you pass everything and are merit listed for a certain trade, the chances of you not getting an offer aren't impossible but it can happen. If you are not offered your primary application choice you may be offered your second, if neither are available they will let you know, and you go from there. They may tell you to put your application on hold for the time being until your trades open up or are available again, or they may tell you they are closing your file and to re-apply again in a certain time frame.

Sorry Leeworthy, but the case being discussed here does not have any of those options.  Soldier2112 is applying for a position in an Infantry unit of the Primary Reserves, not the Regular Force.  They have only two options available to them: They are ACCEPTED into that unit as an officer candidate; or they are NOT ACCEPTED.  There are no options for selecting another Trade.  The Reserve unit MAY offer Soldier2112 a position as a NCM, but if they do not, then Soldier2112 is out of luck and will have to apply to another Reserve unit for acceptance.

The first question, NO your Recruiting Centre will NOT notify you.  As mentioned by George Wallace above, these positions are managed/controlled by the individual Reserve Unit that you are applying to, so it will be them contacting you.  If for whatever reason things don't work out, you would have to contact another Reserve Unit in your local area or speak with the Brigade Recruiters to see if any other possibilities exist that may be of interest.
