Avoiding the non-issue of what Canada is doing with captured Taliban, etc., what actually is happening to those that are captured both in Afghanistan and Iraq? You never hear any followup of either justice system, but by now the jails have to be overflowing. Are they like the Canadian Justice system that wags their fingers at them telling them to go forth and harm no more?

Do a search for articles which discuss release rates and the answer shall be known to ye.

They are held in jails/detention facilites in the country. There are Afghan judges etc who try the accused. If they are found not quilty, they are released.

I find it funny that western reporters who go visit these Afghan prisons think that the conditions for the prisoners are horrible...
Until they see how the guards live, and it is then they realize all is normal by Afghan standards.

Thanks that is what I was looking for, what is actually happening.

In Iraq they either go to a prison, pay thier way out along the line somewhere, or end up on the banks of the tigis handcuffed riddled with 7.62x39.

I have no clue what's happening to them, but it's not keeping me awake either.
