what kind of ppe do they issue to infantry?

hi there guys
I'm 16 and looking to join the forces full time. Ive already worked the trades and found i still wanted something "more", which leads to my question(and others).
so before i go all gung-ho about joining, i just wanted to ask you guys personally about what you think of the political situation and if the forces are really going to pull outta the middle east(at least combat wise), and also your views of the ppe they supply to infantry and combat engineers(more or less the ballistic protection that they supply you guys out in the field). Ive tried asking some guys about it but i seem to get mumbled replies and unclear answers

i would appreciate any advice or opinions

One last piece of advice: Finish high school, and get the best marks that you can. It will benefit you in the future, and make you more competitive during your application phase.

And may I add, far better than what was issued to us 15-20 years ago.
I'll bet those who served before I did would say the same thing about the equipment we had compared to what they were issued.

Just full stop. It doesn't matter what the conflict is. You will deploy where ever and when ever you are told. Don't be horny on the whole Ghan conflict. If your reasoning to join the Army is to fight the Taliban only, then you might want to reconsider it, before signing the line.
