To a rabbit perhaps. The scale of the "mountain" is unknown, as well as the targets.
IF that was a human, laws of physics will explain that it is impossible to do what was shown in the video. The person firing the rifle would have to experience identical forces as the object being shot. The energy going into the shoulder of the shooter is almost equal to the energy going into the target. A human would not fly like the object in the video did, a rabbit or something that size might..
I couldn't tell you the results of a .50 cal rifle hitting a larger body, but I can imagine the damage.
...and I have no idea what the rifle in the video may be.
however, the pressure per square inch of a bullet is much much higher than at the butt of the rifle. Plus if they had dug in the bipod that might take some of the force.. Still, bullets go thud more than blamo like that.
you will see and hear the result of when a 50 cal. bullet hits a Taliban killer (gopher) in Afghanistan (or anywhere one can find gophers). These are taken by Marine corp.. and Army snipers (or by kids plinking said gophers). It isn't pretty but it's war (against the gophers). The impact Is probably (not) 100's of yards away from the the sniper(shooter). These were probably (not) taken through the lens of the spotter for the sniper(shooter). What you will see are (gopher) body parts flying through the air because a 50 cal. will (pass through a body quickly) blow a body in pieces when it hits.
yes they are legal in Canada provided you meet all the other critrea such as mag capicity etc. Barretts has several nice hunting versions of their military spec models. Just be prepared to take out a second mortage on your house. Speaking from experience tried ( I should tried before I bought) one for this year deer and elk season. To much damage to the usable meet if you hit bone. Ended up going back to 7mm Seiko with a heavy barrel. As for gophers 22-250 seems to work just perfect.
