What's do you like about CBC? (split from Media: Bias, errors, follies, etc.)

Yeah, it shows my age and taste in music.
I'm going to go back even further - anyone else remember/like Finkleman's 45's?

My only issue is with his constant interjection of himself into everything. Every episode feels like "Al Pacino told me not to namedrop, but..."

A personal favourite: When the Irrelevant Show did a kidnapping / murder mystery, in the style of Stuart McLean.

When I was an exchange student in Germany, I would tune into the Canadian Forces Network and listen to Peter Gzowski and Morningside.  I also tuned in to listen in on the Royal Canadian Air Farce.  I fondly recall one skit in which then-PM Pierre Elliot Trudeau was being installed as Pierre the First, emporer of Canada.  His acceptance speech?
"You've made me Emporer, there's no need to linger.  You've given me a crown, I give you the finger."  ;D

But in that he's just like almost every other senior citizen who had a very successful and interesting career (and still does to some extent) and wants to relate (remember) the good times. I don't mind it, at least I don't have to listen anymore to his now ex-wife.

Was also a listener when Danny Finkleman had the time slot.  My other radio music listening habit is Saturday Night Blues with Holger Petersen.

Good show, as is Tonic with Tim Tamashiro (go figure - a jazz musician doing a jazzy-easy listening show).
