Whats with Turkey being so upsetwith the Kurds?

Excuse my ignorance, but why has turkey been so upset with Kurds in some of the cities of northern Iraq? I mean its Iraq not turkey, and at one point they were ready to send thier own troops in? I havent been to the middle east in years and must have forgotten the reasons. i do remember that they didnt want the kurds to set up any kind of home land much as the palestinians are wanting to do on the west bank. Can some one explain this bit of politics for me??

Turkey and the Kurds go back a long way they have been after each other for years. Run a google search on "turkey and the kurds" you‘ll see what I mean.

Turkey is afraid of the Iraqi Kurd‘s setting up an Indipendent Kurdish Country so to speak with in Iraq there by stirring up the Turkish Kurd‘s to do the same with in Turkey.

Go to the web and search and you will see that they used to occupy south eastern Turkey and northern Iraq and part‘s of north western Iran before real border‘s were defined.

Basicly they want what the Jew‘s have done,thier own home land as to past history.

Also they are nice people,as I have met a few in my life.
