Why did I never hear back from the recruiters?

I applied to the military back in 2006, my top choice was bioscience officer followed by a couple different engineering professions. At the time of my application I was just about done my engineering program. I did the basic test, medical test, fitness test, and had an interview. I'm pretty confident that I passed everything, in fact on the fitness test I did 100 pushups and the guy doing the test said it was the most he'd ever seen personally. I had pretty good academic marks in school, finished up with a 3.6ish GPA, and have no criminal or drug history at all.

Anyway, after the interview I never ever heard from them again. I never bothered contacting them myself, because I got into a Masters program shortly after. However, I've always wondered why I never got at least a rejection call or an email back. It isn't real relevant to my life now, but after a buddy showed me this forum I began to wonder again.

Perhaps that is your answer.  Did you ensure that they knew how to contact you?  Did you move and not inform them of your move?

Use this as a lesson in life.  If you are applying for a job, any job, always follow up with contacting the employer to see what the situation is.  It shows the employer that you are indeed interested in the job.

Well I think I figured out what happened, and I've learned a couple lessons.

1. follow up personally.
2. don't rely on others to relay messages.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.
