Milsim question....

Will the standard C7A1 Patrol Sling also work with a C8/M4A1 ?

Or will it need some work to adapt it.

The sling NSN in question is 1005-21-911-7446.

(item found on eBay at http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36071&item=6517401529#ebayphotohosting)

Thanks

oh look more kit that has "fallen off back of the truck".. >:(

WHY

The patrol sling sucks - it is much easier to take the standard 2pt sling and fit it into a single pt or useful 2pt sling.

...at least it will if put on a C8. If you want a better way of toting it, just run the issued sling through both slots in the C8 retractable butt and make a complete hoop with it; then sling it over both shoulders and close up the butt. Easier shown than written, but it works good.

Well the sling arrived today.  Now I understand why that one fellow didn't like it.... It is rather different with the two loops at the ends.  However, I tried it out on an M16A2 and it was a much better fit on it.

I'll try the looping idea though the butt stock on the C8.  Too bad you can't open or remove the loops as my C8 has a side sling loop at the front for a 3-point, then I could just strap it through there.

I'm just spoiled with my HK R3/3 Sling on my MP5, such an awesome sling for a factory OEM unit!

Btw...

What sling is normally issued with the C8?

Thanks
