World Series

How Toronto of you that you just assume that all of Canada automatically supports a team located in your city.

How naive of me to assume Canadians would put their politics aside long enough to support our Canadian World Series team.

I don’t care if it was the Killarney Blue Jays.

As a Canadian, I would have been proud of them.

We all should be proud of Canada’s team, that gave us their best.

Guess not.

I’ve never followed baseball, and prior to game 6 I don’t think I’d watched anything close to a full game. I thought it was a simple matter of ‘hit ball with stick’, and hadn’t realized how much strategy goes into it- happy to admit I was wrong. We watched all of game six and all of last night. I suspect that by pure luck I managed to pick and watch one of the most entertaining, edge of your seat games possible. Last night was an absolute blast.

That Rojas dude should never pay for a drink again.

I would love to see the same support of our wholly domestic amateur and pro leagues. That we genuflect towards US leagues over and above our own is disappointing to me. And yes, the NHL is a wholly US owned and operated league that barely tolerates having foreign franchises.

The Blue Jays beat themselves. If they would have run the bases properly in the bottom of the 9th, they would have beat the call at home. Poor decision making cost them the title.

It's too bad, as they were generally the better team throughout the World Series.
