Would a visit to Thailand affect the background check?

The title is my question. I don't know what the list of 'problem' countries are. I don't think it would be on it, but it's better to check first. A search for Thailand turns up only two posts, neither of which are relevant.

Thailands cool...any country with a hammer and sickle is verboten.

I went to Cuba last year and I just brought up the chain of command. Good to go

Look for "Scheduled Countries"

Just be honest!

Yes, absolutely!

Whenever you visit Thailand I would recommend a thorough back ground check of the country...pay special attention to the burgeoning white sex slave trade that goes on there (amoung other places) where you can get upwards of 1 million dollars for a nice white girl with all her teeth.

Think long and hard about it before you go...

I though she meant background check/security clearance to join up.

Why would you willingly spend money to help prop up a repressive communist regime?

Ask the people that turn those OLD cars into boats and try to float across to Florida for the best answers, I guess....

Actually they don't use the old cars for that. Surplus Ladasa dn old Soviet Gaz jeeps float better 8)

Anyway back on topic. Thailand is a great place to visit. Like Slim suggestrs a littel research on potential hazards is prudent, and that applies to visiting anywhere. Although when I was in Bangkok a year ago the Government is really trying to clean up the "sex tourist image," more or less as Castro did in Cuba about 10 years back

The resort we went to in Cuba is partly owned by a Canadian Consortium (Serge Savard from the Montreal Canadians) 49%.

It was awesome.

Thanks for the warning! I will try to be careful if I go there.

My sister went to Cuba for her honeymoon. :P

If u print off the DFAIT page, it has a list of the embassies in Thailand and phone numbers to help u out.

CUBA is an awesome place to party!!!

El Senador is a nice resort complex, beach sucks though, but you can play road hockey at night. Not the best party spot in Cuba though, too isolated. Let me know next time you go and I'll give you a list of places in Habana, antiago or Cienfuegos where the tourists don't go. Bring bail money. 8)
