Has anyone heard anything about PLQ qualified NCMs going officer that get to write off any of their BOTC? I‘ve heard as much as 8 weeks can be written off, but I‘m wondering if anyone has actually seen or heard anything about this.

It depends on your trade. I‘ve heard of a MCpl getting exempt from BOTP & CAP-R, and was allowed to go right into their MOC training.

I‘ve also heard of others having to do all of the BOTP/CAP-R, even though they completed BMQ, SQ, and DP1A a year or two before.

If you are 5B (PLQ) qual‘d, you bypass IAP.
In order to bypass BOTP, you must be qual‘d 6B (ILQ)
Note: this info applies to RegF pers.

By the time I get to the BOTC point I will have completed a RegF PLQ, but what is the IAP? I am planning on going ROTP (I got in last year but my medical had to be re-reviewed and the results didn‘t come back in time). What is the standard proceedure? I was under the impression it was BOTC, then university (RMC or otherwise), then phase training depending on your trade..

Thanks..

IAP is the Inital Assessment Phase, and happens as a part of your time in St Jean for BOTC. More information can be found on the CFLRS website. For a link to IAP/BOTC, go here: http://www.cflrs.forces.gc.ca/English/officers/index_e.asp

Ok thanks for the info.. Now an update. I‘ve completed a RegF PLQ, and have been promoted to MCpl.. I was informed that I have been given an unconditional offer to join under ROTP at the University of Victoria MechEng program (schwing!).. I was told on the phone however that I was off to St Jean on the 28th of June. I spoke to the career counsellor, regarding the PLQ writting off part of the IAP, and she didn‘t have any idea, although they had records of my completion on file. She said she‘d get back to me.

Just wondering if anyone out there has been skipped through their IAP, and have anything to say about it.

I‘m just not looking forward to doing basic training all over again.. :p
