Hmm,...I guess I know what the one I have is worth now.

Can you post some close ups of the hilt - both sides - and both ends of the scabbard.

Thanks
Larry

Kinda what I thought, why would you offer something that generally runs in the 3 - 4k range for $600. It appears to be a Czech knock off.....

Larry Strong,
You have to be a member to see the photo on your linked forum.
I would agree that it's
a fake

(asking 450$)

The photo's I posted are the ones from this thread, lots of nays and no yeas.

Your link is an SA dagger as opposed to SS.

As an SA vs SS item it makes more sense with the Ernst Rohm dedication.

The one shown above is black so it's an SS dagger. These are not my "thing", ergo I don't understand the Rohm dedication on the SS blade, I know it was done on the SA daggers. However the one post on WAF wanted a closer look at the dedication so it must have been done.....

I'm no expert, but $600 seems very cheap. Especially if it has a dedication to Rohm, though it is hard to fathom why an original SS dagger would have such a dedication. Unless it was pre-'34, which would make it even more valuable.
:dunno:

I collect Militaria (Have been for years) and I can almost %100 say that this is a fake. (Just look at the poor worksmanship, not typical at all of German Militaria) And another thing, Ernst Rohm was despised by the SS (Hitler had them kill him if I remember correctly) so this dagger would never have had any association with him.

Auf Wiedersehen Appollo,

Your e-mail addy shows your are a spammer from Poland, which is a place that does many cheap knock offs of German Militaria...

Since we've outed the shuckster this thread has peaked my interest.  Mom says this has been laying around the house/ garage since Dad came back in 1946......[she made him give away the Luger years ago]
I'm curious to hear what it's worth and if there is a history to it.
Thanks,
Bruce

EDIT:  these were old pics from 2005 that Mike Bobbitt took on his phone, that's as big as they get for now.

Looks like the one I mentioned here.
