WW2 point system for rotation home RCE Canadian Field Survey

I'm looking for a source that will explain the point system used in WW2 to rotate Canadian soldiers home from Europe. In particular (if it was different) for the RCE Canadian Field Survey Unit.
I'm asking this for an RCE vet who is writing his memoirs but is not on line.
