Hi  I'm trying  (fruitlessly) to locate my Father.  He was a driver I think, although down as an Oil Well Driller  on my birth Cert. in 1944.  He was stationed in England, near Southampton.  Hoping someone out there can help me.  Eddie

Do you know the complete initials of your Father, if so please post them and I will
attempt a search.

                Regards Old F of S

Yep, that is his full name.  He was 32 in 1943 when he married my mother.  His Army No was Private number D105504 and his fathers name was John Frederick Haldenby.  Earl came from Mount Vernon Ave, Montreal.

Have you tried Legion Magazine? Visit: http://www.legionmagazine.com/

If he is still alive, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, you have a good chance of finding him through the "Lost Trails" feature that appears in the print version of the magazine. If he has died, and was a member of the Legion, you are likely to find him in the Last Post column, which also appears on the website.

Good luck.
