Lohan sister bids for TV stardom

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina and sister Ali are to star in a fly-on-the-wall TV show, it has been announced. Living Lohan will follow Dina as she works
to manage Lindsay's schedule and help 14-year-old Ali try to follow in her older sister's famous footsteps.Dina came under scrutiny managing Lindsay's rise
to stardom, after allowing her to live a late-night life of Hollywood club-hopping.

The show will hit US TV screens in the summer on cable network E!

'Highly entertaining'

"This is a family that knows how to roll with the punches and come out on top," Lisa Berger, from E! said. "Dina is an incredibly hard-working, passionate mum
that I think our viewers will find both relatable and highly entertaining."

The series, which has already begun shooting, will chronicle the family's trip to a Las Vegas recording studio, where Ali is set to start work on a would-be solo
album. E! did not say if Lindsay will be seen on the show, but said that her 11-year-old brother Cody and 20-year-old brother Michael would be featured.

Lindsay, 21, began modelling as a child and created a name for herself in movies such as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. As she entered
her late teens, Lohan undertook more difficult roles and earned critical praise for her role in Robert Altman film, A Prairie Home Companion. But last year,
her personal life took a tumble when she was arrested twice by police and battled drug and alcohol abuse.

I once heard a preposal to create a 'reality-tv' station... one where if you so desire, you could subscribe and watch these shows endlessly.
Then the rest of the stations would banned from airing any of this mind-rotting tripe.

Meh. You see one dysfunctional family, you've seen 'em all.  :boring:

So, you're saying it's time for a non-dysfunctional family in reality TV ?  :D

Mmm, I wonder where they could find that ...  ;)

I feel like i'll be sitting with my grand kids on my lap saying "back in my days, TV was actually entertaining... and they had scrips, and good actors, and Survivor was interesting for the first 2 seasons"  ;D

Another low for T.V. Watch as that show only has two, three at the most, episodes before cancellation because it'll be just like The Real World on MTV. ::)

I don't think they've heard you the other side of the ocean...

ITV signs duchess as 'fat guru'

The duchess has been staying in a B&B in Hull while filming
ITV has signed up Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, as a fat-fighting guru for a new programme.

Provisionally titled The Duchess In Hull, the duchess will attempt to improve the eating habits of an unhealthy family on a council estate.
The two-part show will be broadcast on ITV1 this summer. The duchess, a WeightWatchers ambassador, said: "This programme is an
attempt to explore solutions to the growing obesity problem in the UK."

'Weight issues'

"I want to see whether we can help families all over the country, no matter what their budget, to improve their lifestyles through using
what is already available to them in their community. "Weight issues affect all sorts of people from all walks of life. The family I met in
Hull live in a way that I hadn't experienced - feeding six on a week's benefits."

An ITV spokesman said the duchess would use her experience of eating disorders, low self-esteem, family conflict, financial crisis, divorce
and bereavement to help the Sargerson family improve their lifestyle. Parents Tonia and Mick live with four of their children, aged seven to
16. They also have a 24-year-old daughter who lives nearby with her boyfriend.

Locals have spotted the duchess shopping with the Sargersons in budget supermarket Netto.
