I suspected that some of this would appear in an election campaign.

Of note.

1. PP and his team didn’t seem to be aware.
2. While it looked like they were trying to favour PP it didn’t really change the outcome
3. Wasn’t terribly organized.

Also the source has a TS security clearance so we know for sure that the source wasn’t PP.

Given Fraser had a lot of family issues going on which is what influenced him not seeking, o don't see anything suspicious of him deciding to stay on. Probably just sorted things out

So, that the polls turned so dramatically in the LPCs favour had nothing to do with Anand and now Fraser having reversed their initial decision?

What were the family issues going on?

Looks to me like all his announcements were the standard "spend more time with family".

Subjecting yourself to a campaign when you’re competitive or even have an edge is a very different prospect from subjecting yourself to a campaign where you face almost certain defeat as both an individual and as a government. I imagine there’s some deliberation on whether it’s ’worth it’.

I love how 9.5 years of Trudeau, his cohort, and their policies can be flushed down the toilet with such ease. It is truly a miracle of the hold the LPC has on this country.

Cripes even Gerry Butts has been resurrected from purgatory. "All is forgiven Ger, you have a clean slate to do what you do so well".

The whole Maxwell thing is a distraction from the real issues.

Anyone can get their pic taken with unsavory people. This may be one of those instances.

Common sense suggests any group with power and influence is going to attract unsavoury people seeking same. The likelihood of paths crossing is probably high. A one-off photo op or attendance means nothing. A long association means something.

Contrast with current fiscal situation.

Election commitments are often broken.

Conclusion: none of the promises should be taken as worth anything.
