I wasn't referring to those parts of the quote. I was referring to the first two parts: "Yes he will [be deported], as will anyone who preaches hate for America," Miller said. "Under this country, under this administration, under President Trump, people who hate America [will be deported]"

Now, fundamentally if someone is an immigrant and is preaching hate for a country, I could see that a justification for deportation. I'm not sure if I would be supportive of such a law, but I wouldn't be totally appalled if a country did have that as a law. However, this is the country where people, especially conservatives, are constantly screaming about how the first amendment is an unaliable right. It's why people in America are allowed to march around with Nazis arm bands without technically breaking any laws, so this statement seems highly hypocritical.

But more importantly, his statements did NOT indicate that he meant for this to only apply to immigrants, and given what Trump said about potentially deporting "home grown" criminals, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that wasn't an accidental ommission, but rather a true revelation of his (and by extension, the administration's) desire/intention to "deport" any one, even American citizens, for language (deemed by them) to be "hate" for America.

I think it's safe to say that when the Trump administration talks about "deporting anybody who hates America" - they are referring to illegal aliens being deported, not natural born American citizens.

Lets not forget the above is just a quote from someone representing the administration - it isn't proposed legislation, and doesn't not have to be analyzed in the same black & white lens or interpreted as literal.

I would find it far more concerning if this was an official, massive policy change announcement rather than some official driving a point to the media

Because if you were born in America, grew up in America, or are an American citizen...the suggestion that that person may somehow find themselves locked up in a foreign country shouldn't even be a possibility.

Like a big f**king 0% chance that should ever happen

(Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a big fan of his throughout most of his first term. But I caught the media in enough disinformation & started seeing through the cracks, and it all sort of clicked into place for me - but I wasn't a fan of his last time around.

So I'm NOT blindly banging the MAGA drum or anything - but when you look at the bigger picture behind his message, and why he was re-elected, it doesn't fit with them deporting US citizens to 2nd world countries.

That's a very charitable view of your fellow countrymen. The more likely scenario is the people who beat the civil war 2 drum are on the side of the Orange Fella. The militia types and Maga types aren't quite a circle on the American venn diagram, but it's pretty darn close.

At a certain point of civil unrest the Army will need to decide what side it is on, usually based on what we have seen here earlier - and in other countries more recently it isn't one side or the other, and the split is rarely even...

Now that is a scary thought. One that becomes more realistic the closer we get to summer. I'll eat my hat if this isn't taking the George Floyd summer and cranking it up 3 or 4 times in intensity. In fact, I'll finally write off the moral courage of Americans writ large if it's not lol. Watching how comfortable so many Americans are with the slide in autocracy has been very disappointing and paradigm shifting imo.

The conventional crackpot militia types want revolution, not civil war. Different situation.

Some of the people who claim to be worried about fascism/authoritarianism/totalitarianism descending on America are using that imagined threat to justify calls for any-means-necessary resistance. Who will start shooting at politicians and CEOs first, I wonder.

I don't consider it an imagined threat if POTUS starts detaining people and shipping them overseas.

Well, if your President is ruminating deporting your own fellow citizens to a gulag at best, rumored death camp at worst, any-means-necessary may become the only option. The democrats, socialists and monarchists of Germany made the fatal mistake of waiting too long and back-biting during the rise of the ultra-nationalists, I'm not saying history repeats itself but I'm starting to hear some rhyming here.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wonder if a new Undeground Railroad may be needed here.
