Katy Perry is really getting beat up over this stunt.

Watching the space capsule door open from the inside then hurriedly shut so Jeff Bezos could be filmed using a special tool to open the door (just to have it pop open again) was awesome. They sure have hired the film crew from Fly Me to the Moon.

Having to walk back "First all-female space mission" probably didn't help the PR stunt.

Earth is not exactly central. If we are getting visited on a regular basis, then spaceflight if you have the right technology is easy and cheapish.

Assuming the above and taking in some of the information releases from the USAF over the last couple of years:

1) Earth is of interest due to our technological stage and we are being observed by extraterrestrial anthropologists

2) There may be prohibitions on interactions with species till they reach a certain technological stage. Which makes the assumption that we are within another species region of control/influence

3) We have been contacted and that the aliens and governments are slowly acclimatizing us to the fact that we are not alone

4) It is highly unlikely Earth has anything of value outside of being habitable, that cannot be found elsewhere the galaxy

5) Earth and countless other planets were established by families of transhuman and alien royalty to harvest the resulting organisms to produce a youth serum for the elites on other planets. Their existence and control over us is being hidden until it is time to harvest the crop that the Earth produces - See Jupiter Ascending, which is currently streaming on Prime.

Nope. Nope. Transhumans.

"Jupiter Ascending" didn't get much love from the critics or the box office but IMHO it is a great film up there in the style of "Fifth Element" and "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" from the mind of Luc Besson - probably the only great cinematographic sci-fi projects coming out of France.
