Admittedly I think Billy Smith was dirtier. Hextall just played later than Smith, and got called for more things.

Billy would swing the stick like scythe at about ankle level. Any forward trying the wrap around did so at their peril.

The Oilers managed to somehow stay alive after a junk first and second period.

They are aware that there are 3 periods in hockey and that any goals that they score in the first period do eventually count in the final score, right?

They have not been aware there are 3 periods for most of the last decade +.

I went to bed when the Kings were up 3-1 and said I will wake up to 4-3 OT Oilers win. The power of thought and now as tradition I need to do the same for the rest of the playoffs

Yeah I watched up till the end of the Second Period, McDavid's face when the LAK scored their 3rd goal was pretty telling, and I hadn't expected them to rally.

All in all the Playoffs this year have been great, no sweeps and all the games have generally been entertaining, even if some have been frustrating.
