Pollievre doesn't get to fly for free to make announcements or visit ridings like Trudeau did.
"But is it illegal?"It amazes me, the hypocrisy of the CPC to attack liberals on spending when Pierre Poilievre has expensed more to tax payers then the liberal and NDP leaders combined
7.4 million for staff salaries, this isn't even travel costs.Pollievre doesn't get to fly for free to make announcements or visit ridings like Trudeau did.
I miss Rob Ford and his approach at Politician's expenses and spending. Should be the standard for all."But is it illegal?"
It's fine, CBC just got another $150M, just take it out of Rosemary Bartons stipend.7.4 million for staff salaries, this isn't even travel costs.

Canada’s MPs spent record-breaking $187.8 million in 2024
Canadian members of Parliament spent a record $187.8 million in 2024, including $32 million on travel.www.ctvnews.ca
He's in opposition, why would he need to be visiting ridings or making announcements on the taxpayer dime? None of that is part of his role. Also his riding was in Ottawa, so he doesn't need to travel to visit.Pollievre doesn't get to fly for free to make announcements or visit ridings like Trudeau did.
He's the leader of the opposition in a minority government that represented 120ish ridings across Canada. It's pretty easy to limit spending when your support is just downtown Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and 3 small east coast provinces. He's in opposition, why would he need to be visiting ridings or making announcements on the taxpayer dime? $7.4 million is a lot of staff though.
Just like that time Poilievre treated himself to a $6000 a night hotel room with butler and the PMO ordered their people not to discuss it.Considering we just added $30B to the debt in the same time period, maybe a grand total of $20M in a year is really just a $16 orange juice in the scale on how screwed up our finances are?
Those are party expenses, and don't forget he has shadow cabinet members that should be looking at specific policies and departments as part of their roles. He's the leader of the opposition in a minority government that represented 120ish ridings across Canada. $7.4M on staff to research policies and finally get rid of Trudeau is money well spent.
And yet is still in opposition…He's the leader of the opposition in a minority government that represented 120ish ridings across Canada. It's pretty easy to limit spending when your support is just downtown Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and 3 small east coast provinces.

like this? And yet is still in opposition…
Note to everyone though: As much as I am ok with PP taking heat for his hypocrisy on spending as a career politician, remember that the PM is not a house officer so the true costs of travel etc will not be reflected in that report which only covers house officers. The PMO likely has a significantly higher expense total.
Beat me to it haha, I'm surprised they are waiting till fall, which is going to be half or more through the fiscal yearLooks like we’ll get a full budget in the fall.

Carney is an economist with a PhD. If he doesn't think we need a budget for the next 1-4 years, we don't.Beat me to it haha, I'm surprised they are waiting till fall, which is going to be half or more through the fiscal year
