Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

Maybe you're on to something. 2% GDP can be spent on a few MIRVs.

So ends the Pax Americana. If the Americans cant lean on their own client state, the age of them keeping the post-war order in check is over. Let's hope the next order is a Pax Europensis as opposed to a Pax Seres (Serica?).
Where its survival is concerned, Israel makes its own decisions and it doesn't matter who runs the US and tries to lean on Israel. Israel already knew the US was undependable due to choices of prior US administrations. For some time now - possibly a couple of decades - Israel has been a client state only when it suits Israel. Israel can go it alone.

They are still entirely dependent on the Americans for munitions and global coverage. They aren't as autonomous as they like to act.

Yes, Israel isn't a superpower. When the stakes are high enough, they go to war with the army they have. They already knew the US won't always have Israel's back at the UN or in dealing with Iran.

No surprise... hopefully this will kick off a round of internal Iranian purging

Pass the popcorn please. This could get verrrryyyyy interesting

I would put no stock in that unless there’s considerable corroboration.

Right now is a time to be even more skeptical than usual of any breaking reports that seem sensational.
Even if its not true you would think a paranoid regime might look into it.

Best case scenario, Iranians find a foothold to use this to overthrow the Ayatollah and become what I suspect would be a pretty secular democracy.

Worst case scenario, this revolves into warlordism but instead of illiterate farmers from Afghansitan, it's a country with massive, modern weapons stockpiles and a highly educated populace. Let's hope for number 1.

Whole lot happening real fast right now.

Reports that there are Iranian missiles in the air, and the live feed of Israel's military spokesman giving a briefing was cut short as a result. There were rumblings earlier that Iran would be firing over 100 ballistic missiles.

EDIT: No missiles yet, but an attack of some kind is imminent in the next few hours. Israel is telling people to stay near a shelter.

Houthi's are unsurprisingly jumping into the melee.

France will not partake in Israel's strikes on Iran, but if Iran attacks Israel - France will aid in defending it however.

Iran claims to have hit an Israeli fighter, no proof yet so take with a hearty bag of salt.
