RCMP Charges CAF Members For Trying to Start Anti- Government Group- July 08/ 2025

Related ?
MOD EDIT- Split off from another thread hence the 'related' post.

“The RCMP said searches conducted in the Québec City area led to the seizure of 16 explosive devices, 83 firearms and accessories, approximately 11,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, nearly 130 magazines, four pairs of night-vision goggles and military equipment.”

That’s a decent haul. I feel like the story on this one will be pretty wild once we eventually get it. It’ll probably be under a publication ban in court until either there’s a trial to report on, or it otherwise resolves.

Interestingly the search and seizures started in January 2024. A fairly decent 18 month investigative run up to laying the charges.

Jeebus. Those guys were armed to the teeth.

I guess if they were trying to recruit, they were probably going to equip…

Tiny little nugget near the bottom of the presser mentioned a criminal charge under the Defence Production Act. I’d love to know more about that just because of how unusual that is. Controlled goods related I guess?

They may also just really like firearms...

Not to say they're good guys, but it's not unheard of for people who really like something to own lots of that something. I'm sure some members of this forum have collections not much smaller.

I'm curious as to what exactly the "16 explosive devices" were. Gonna have to wait until this hits the court I guess.

So three arrests, a fourth being sought... And seven in the picture in quarry (presumably a range).

controlled goods, or technical data control

I’m guessing a section 37 offence maybe? Unauthorized possession of controlled goods? Maybe for the mentioned NVGs?

37 (1) No person shall, unless the person is registered under section 38 or exempt from registration under section 39 or 39.1, knowingly examine or possess a controlled good or transfer a controlled good to another person.

(2) No person registered or exempt from registration shall knowingly transfer a controlled good to or permit the examination of a controlled good by a person who is not registered or exempt from registration.

Is that a LAW in the back, right corner?

Something tells me this has nothing to do with the Blue Hackle thread that is more than likely just some kind of poorly moderated JR's mess group with lewd posts, some dating back prior to Op Honour. Offensive and very dumb to post online? 100% Yes, but not exactly a serious threat as far as I could tell.

This is definitely a completely different activity, whatever it turns out to be. Perhaps the mods can remove the Blue Hackle from the title as it's a bit confusing.

I would guess the only link between the two is the reporter who wrote the story, and the short time frame between the stories.

The LAW could be a training tube, some of these guns like the P08 could be from one of the members private collection and not related to the groups activity, or perhaps they were just stockpiling anything they could get their hands on. For all we know they were going to give the P08 to some supporter, or maybe it was just part of a members private collection. Kind of hard to say.

RE LAWs, realistically how hard would it be to get a tube off a range? Ive only ever done one LAW range but we only had 10 launchers so easy to count. At the end the ammo guy specifically accounted for all ten to return as salvage. He was telling me there are extra precautions as it is a complete weapon systems and not just ammo, thus more strict. Mind you this was 6-7 years ago and I haven't seen one since, could have just had a very diligent ammo NCO.

Is there any reality to that? Could a guy hypothetically "lose" a LAW into a ruck with an incompetent ammo NCO and lie during an ammo dec or is it more controlled?
