Trump administration 2024-2028

View attachment 95922
Not even trying to pretend to be a democracy anymore. This is a guy who wants to wield more political violence.

Don't worry, our pro-Trump crowd will be by shortly to bring us back to earth, nothing to worry about, all overblown. Perfectly "normal" presidential stuff, this post wasn't actually Trump but was in fact the Left-wing media blowing things out of proportion again.

There's nothing to worry about Mills Bomb. It's perfectly normal presidential stuff to call in the military after Portlands mayor ordered police NOT to arrest protestors, including illegal aliens, for breaking the law because arresting illegal aliens could violate the cities sanctuary city status.

I'd have to agree with this decision ...

FBI fires agents photographed kneeling during 2020 racial justice protest, AP sources say

The FBI has fired agents who were photographed kneeling during a racial justice protest in Washington that followed the 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, three people familiar with the matter said Friday.

The bureau last spring had reassigned the agents but has since fired them, said the people, who insisted on anonymity to discuss personnel matters with The Associated Press.

The number of FBI employees terminated was not immediately clear, but two people said it was roughly 20.

I’m curious what due process was applied in firing them? Was it disciplinary? Performance? This will definitely be challenged in court, I’m curious whether the firings will hold up.

Sounds like at the time and in the moment that was a tactical decision to deescalate. That likely means it was a decision taken by someone at the supervisory level.

I don’t think anyone can plausibly claim there’s not an obvious potential political motive in the firings. Firing someone generates records and communications. Discovery on this one could be spicy.

This. Despite the at will nature of most US workplaces, you still can only be fired for legal reasons, and there is a very high bar applied to dismissal for gross misconduct.

One extreme, now opposed by what some regard as another extreme.

Normies outnumber revolutionary vanguards as long as the power to choose extremes exists at the ballot box.

There's over 10 million people illegally living in the USA, probably more realistically over 15 million.

The Trump administration has deported about 100,000 to maybe 200,000 according to various sources.

I would really like to hear a convincing argument of why it's necessary to go into Democrat cities right now. They haven't even scratched the surface, not even 1% of the illegals have been deported under Trump.

Considering how few illegals they've actually managed to deport so far, why doesn't Trump focus on deporting illegals from the red states? Those are the people who voted for them to be removed. If these illegals are really such dangerous criminals, would you not focus on removing them from the cities where your voter base lives in order to keep them safe?

This would be like if Bloc Québécois won a federal election and then banned symbols like crosses, hijabs, turbans, and yarmulkes nationwide, but then focused on enforcing the ban by sending the RCMP to New Brunswick first, all while the symbols continue to be worn in mass in Quebec.

Kinda seems to me like its BS and there's really no reason to go there right now.

It's easier and more effective to put on shows that encourage people to self-deport than to go through the (expensive, time-consuming) processes required to forcibly deport them. The saltier the show, the more impact it has.

You forgot “When the Dems did it, it was worse”.

So where between "let the rioters riot" and "call out the army" is the preferred position?

It was a facetious comparison of the last time the Dems sent the military into a city for “reasons”. Like when apologists for the current iteration of the Republican Party say Hunter Biden’s laptop > the classified documents squirrelled away in a bathroom, election racketeering in Georgia, an attempt to overturn an election, an attempt to extort another country to announce an investigation into a political opponent, covering up relationships with foreign agents involved in messing with the election, etc. ad infinitum.

Ive seen some reports saying 400,000 and others saying up to 2 million people between forced and voluntary deportions.

I would really like to hear a convincing argument of why it's necessary to go into Democrat cities right now.
People are there illegally.

Trump has talked about going after Democrat cities. New York, LA, Chicago. Typical posturing playing to his supporters.

In practice he isn't targeting Democrat cities specifically. The deportions are everywhere equally.

As for Portland, watch videos about how the residents feel about the antifa protestors.

So why the Sturm and Drang from the Anti-Trump crowd? It's a tiny fraction of the illegals in the county. It's like being upset that the OPP ticketed 20 people on the 417 yesterday, when 20, 000 were speeding.

I would really like to hear a convincing argument of why it's necessary to go into Democrat cities right now.
Have you heard of "sanctuary cities"? Places that loudly proclaimed that they would flout federal law.... Would you be cool if Charlottetown proclaimed that federal gun laws were invalid, and people could ignore federal firearms laws if they lived in Charlottetown? I'm guessing o... Which is exactly the same reason "sanctuary cities" are being targeted by the federal administration.

Considering how few illegals they've actually managed to deport so far, why doesn't Trump focus on deporting illegals from the red states? Those are the people who voted for them to be removed. Whataboutism?

Isn't that decried as a tool of the weak-minded when the "right" does it?

In the news. "Flag Jacking"

Americans, reportedly, wearing Canadian flags, lapel pins etc. when traveling,

God this shit drives me batty. Our flag isnt a halloween costume or an accessory. The worst part is the people who do this generally still act like the American stereotype and either make us as Canadians look bad or they just look like liars when Europeans see through it. Ive had the pleasure of making my thoughts well known to some Yank shit-for-brains in Antwerp for this very thing.

Are the riots in Portland in the room with us now? All the clips ive seen in the past few days look pretty calm, as in there are no riots calm.

No, but revenge is a dish best served cold... or so I've heard:

Why Donald Trump is obsessed with Portland

Portland is the latest American city where Trump said he’ll send the military. But his fixation on Oregon is different.

Five years ago, rioters in Portland set fire to government buildings, epitomizing for many on the right the lawlessness and chaos that swirled around the George Floyd protests.

President Donald Trump never forgot.

On Saturday, the president announced that he directed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to send U.S. troops to “War ravaged Portland” to protect “ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.” He also gave the extraordinary addendum that he was greenlighting the use of “Full Force, if necessary” in an American city.

The president, his aides and allies have been increasingly focused on Portland over the last several weeks, repeatedly referring to the city in apocalyptic terms that call back to the summer of 2020, when protesters gathered against police violence for more than 170 days.

Many demonstrations that summer were peaceful, but some people looted shops, tore down statues and clashed with police. Trump deployed more than 750 Department of Homeland Security officials into the city to quell riots without the approval of state and local officials.

On Thursday, in the Oval Office, Trump pointed to Portland for at least the third time in recent weeks as an example of a city in despair.

“Take a look at Portland some time,” Trump said. “These are crazy people, and they’re trying to burn down buildings.”

The president’s fixation with Portland — which has a far lower homicide rate than places like Memphis, Washington and Chicago, where Trump has already deployed federal troops or threatened to do so — has as much to do with what the city represents as the protests against ICE currently taking place. The White House views Portland as a useful example in its law-and-order campaign — a city Trump officials can elevate to push forward their message on everything from immigration to crime to far-left violence.
