You can apply when your in the reserves. If you're accepted then you stop being a reservist on one day and you're reg force the next day.

You can. It’s called a “component transfer”; the Primary Reserve and the Regular Force are separate ‘components’ of the CAF. It’s not always a speedy or smooth process but it is very common. Plenty of reservists transfer to the Regular Force, and a smaller number go the other way.
