How many C-295s will eventually be stationed?
Comox
Winnipeg
Trenton
Greenwood
we bought 16 so 4 per station seems logical: one on hot standby, one available with notice one in the hangar to be brought up when needed and one in the shop at a guess. Please correct if my logic is faulty. Didn't the original competition require the bidder to assess and respond to Canada's needs. I wonder why they ignored both the north and the east coast with their replies

thats what i was thinking too but maybe there was an extra in Comox. The north seems to require a different response but I can see the value in the Gander/far east station just from the incident map

I think it was 3 each, except Comox, which has the OTU.

Each flight is 3 a/c. One ready bird. One backup. One in servicing/snags/maintenance.

Comox got two more for the OTU as seakingtacco said.

Ideally, we'd have 5-6 locations and the OTU would be 4 a/c. Something like 19-22 aircraft.

MRTT fleet growth. ACP-MFS fleet growth. Fighter force fleet growth. More crews for P8 vs CP140. New demands for RPAS.

And FAcT not delivering any appreciable increase in training capacity.
