it was 100% legal and warranted, trump had stolen documents. If trump didn't have documents, how did he have documents to turn over when they were subpoenaed? If you read the indictment, you would see that the basis for one of the obstruction of justice charges was testimony from trumps own lawyer.

Thanks for having my back. I still don't like him, but nobody ever tries to give the devil his due. Hes pompous, exaggerates qndma bunch of other stuff most politicians traffic in. I just want to see some balance. But nobody wants to talk the good things republicans have done. Just attack. It sounds like MSNBC or CNN around here sometimes.
AI is a tool. In it's infancy. You might not like it, but it's here and isn’t going away. Using it to accumulate stats, instead of Googling for hours just makes sense to me. The explanation I posted was fair in its narative to both sides. And it contained sources to check it's veracity. Using it shouldn't have to come with apologies. However, I understand it's not everyone's cyber cup of tea.

Most people associate large oil stockpiles with the Middle East or Texas, but Venezuela is sitting on a massive 303 billion barrels worth of crude – about a fifth of the world’s global reserves, according to the US Energy Information Administration. For decades, America was far more dependent on Venezuelan oil than it currently is.

The msg that Carney, Alberta, Canadian oil companies and businesspeople should be loudly spouting off is, 'If the US gets control of VZ oil it will gut our oil industry, our economy and our country. We need to start pumping oil to the west and east coasts ASAP in order to stop the potential collapse of our economy.

yeap, Venezuelan heavy crude can be used in texas refineries, and would be cheaper then ours. If they did that and cut imports of canadian oil, alberta's economy would collapse. On the plus side, it would also probably kill off the separatists, America turning their back on them would basically kill any economic hope for an independent AB.

I think people underestimate just how hard it will be to bring Venezuela's oil infrastructure back into service. It was leaking everywhere in the 1990's when I was there and that was the era where it still worked. There has been zero investment in the sector since Chavez took over in 1999.
Even if the US was able to topple the current regime, it would have to secure the capital, secure the port cities, and the oil terminals and fight a guerrilla war against drug cartels and insurgents, both who would target remaining oil pipelines.

Not really necessary. It can stage a regime change, prop up a new regime, and that regime steers the nation’s oil industry into public private partnerships with American companies, or something like that. Public U.S. spending that drives Venezuelan state investment back to U.S. public interests.

Anyway, Trump has a cabinet meeting and then a public address in the next few hours. And rather a lot of P8s are flying south into the Caribbean over the last couple hours. Curious move of ISR assets.
Realistically, this could just off at any time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it started tonight. I think it’s quite likely the U.S. will militarily strike Venezuela soon; the big question will be what their objective and end state is?
