it was 100% legal and warranted, trump had stolen documents. If trump didn't have documents, how did he have documents to turn over when they were subpoenaed? If you read the indictment, you would see that the basis for one of the obstruction of justice charges was testimony from trumps own lawyer.

And then a few days later into the news cycle drops, "Oh, look, and here's an example of what might be a manifestly unlawful order".
Usually when something looks contrived, it is contrived.
This comes across as a similar scenario to the letter alleging Hunter's laptop was Russian disinfo. Phrased for plausible innocence ("we only wrote that it looked like Russian disinro"), or in this case "we were just providing a helpful reminder", used as a launch pad for the next part of an info op.
I'm waiting to see the proof, but I incline skeptical. "Anonymously sourced" is a tell. If they had solid evidence, it'd be leaked by now. Not sure how people default to taking the media burping this one up seriously after all the past months and months various agencies spent pushing stories that went down in flames. Hope springs eternal, I guess.
