14 Dec 2025: Bondi Beach Australia Hanukkah Attack

What we need is leadership to let the police and security services to use existing laws to go after the foreign agitators and those using criminal hate speech in public. They have been tip-toeing around this for too long.

Also, it’s time for civil society to shun anti-semites, and by extension anti-Zionists again. We’re seeing that 80 years after “Never again”, it is now meaningless.
As long as this current government is in power I don’t think we’ll see that.

That also puts responsibility on us. The next times someone makes an off colour joke about the Holocaust, we as individuals need to put them in their place.

For example, it was reported that in Toronto, someone is starting a ride service for Jews because of recent reports of Uber drivers refusing to serve Jews. Someone commented on the story on social media saying something to the effect of “Don’t they already have train cars?” When confronted, the commenter replied “Lighten up. It was a joke”. As far as I’m concerned, “jokes” like that are not on and we need to do more to call that bullshit out. People wouldn’t joke about any other atrocity.

It’s almost like we have to start doing what they did in occupied Germany after the war: have mandatory viewing of footage from the death camps, as well as footage from the October 7 attacks. That is what casual anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism leads to.

We proudly serve Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, North York, and the Greater Toronto Area with reliable passenger transportation services.

Hatzoloh Toronto,

Responding to the emergency medical needs of Toronto’s Jewish community.

We complement Toronto’s ambulance service with rapid, high-quality, non-transport care within minutes of being dispatched. Hatzoloh Toronto also ensures that 911 has been called. Hatzoloh Toronto’s responders stay with a patient until the ambulance arrives, ensuring that a transfer of care to ambulance paramedics occurs.

For Security,

Shomrim Toronto

Shomrim Toronto is a dedicated volunteer organization committed to ensuring the safety and security of the Jewish communities across the Greater Toronto Area. As guardians of peace (Shalom), we bridge the gap between the community and local law enforcement through vigilant community patrols, educational programs, and direct incident response.

This is also ignoring that Islamophobia is also up and resulting in attacks as well. Pretending it is only anti-semitism on the rise and only the Jews are being attacked is disingenuous.

Both groups have received a increase in discrimination since the Oct 7th attack in 2023.

Both groups have been subjected to mass casualty events just due to their religion. Examples of anti-Islamic attacks being Christchurch and the Quebec City attacks.

That being said removing the religious exemptions from our own hate speech laws is a small step in the right direction.

I do not care from which book it may originate from, it's wild that is was even allowed to begin with.

I disagree with that whole law. I see it as unnecessary as the State stepping into what is and isn’t legal to say and think. That always concerns me as it never stops when you think it will.

Our laws on the books already cover basically everything they want covered in said law. We just don’t enforce it. Intimidation is already illegal and sufficiently broad. Just have to charge the people doing it.

Yeah but for an active shooter, “fairly quickly” can be a lot of dead people.

First on scene pushes straight for the threat and keeps pushing. Anyone else arriving tries to catch up. If tactical show up in time to make a difference for the actual changing of the behaviour away from ‘active threat’, great. Usually they don’t, just because the threat is stopped by initial responders within the first few minutes.
Previously the Aussie system really wasn't setup for that.

If you think the NCR here in MdDcVa is a mess (and it totally is) - the situation there is even more unique.

From the AFP to the various layers of the NSWP districts - there really was nothing for the beach.

A LEO with (optional) soft armor and a Glock 17 or 19 and 2 magazines isn't a ASR -- and it wasn't setup to be -- only key areas had long guns (apparently the beach and surrounding large areas of pedestrian traffic wasn't a key area - but docks and airports where - (which gives insight into their mentality). Plus the Military role in PR/HRT added a third wheel.
If you look into the assets that the AFP and NSWP have, they are quite robust - and even more when you add the Mil SOF assets.
But none of it was going to be available quickly -- even thought the NSWP district system had been setup to push Support Assets out ASAP to the streets as required,

Honestly if I was going to the beach area everyday and it was 40+ degrees (C) I doubt I'd be wearing my soft armor - or carrying much beyond the min level of mandated equipment.

I do think this will dramatically change the outlook that Australian Police have -- and carbines in cars with a plate carrier will become a standard -

You would think the 2015 Paris attack would have woken them up.

Detective Senior Constable Cesar Barraza. Bloody good shooting. I think it was from a bit farther than I initially said now that I’ve seen a better photo- I had the wrong tree. Closer to 35-40m.

An Aussie news outlet has seen an as yet unreleased video of the entire event, and I take it it had audio too based on their ability to count gunshots. Reads to me like maybe a camera up on one of the buildings overlooking the bridge, or possibly a drone. Their very detailed breakdown of the entire sequence of events is here:

Aussie PM likley to focus on the gun issue to avoid other unpleasant conversations
-Well, let me tell you, guns may have stolen the lives of 15 innocent civilians, but it was radical Islamist ideology that pulled the trigger.
Awkward

... The next times someone makes an off colour joke about the Holocaust, we as individuals need to put them in their place ...
Also beware the context of stuff referencing "global bankers" and any group "controlling the world media," too - not all conspiracies are just about "rich folks" with their hands at the levers. The hate can come from all sides, it seems :(

'Assisting police with their inquiries.." got it ;)

4 days after Bondi Beach attack, Australian police conduct dramatic operation as intel suggests possible new plot

Australian police carried out a dramatic operation in a Sydney suburb on Thursday, with heavily armed officers in tactical gear reportedly ramming a car and at least briefly detaining several men amid the ongoing investigation into the Sunday terror attack on a Jewish holiday gathering at the city's Bondi Beach.

The New South Wales state police force said in a statement that two cars were intercepted by tactical operations officers responding "to information received that a violent act was possibly being planned."

The operation was conducted in Sydney's southwest suburb of Liverpool, about a half hour drive away from Bondi Beach. Police said they had "not identified any connection to the current police investigation of the Bondi terror attack."

Australian news outlets NewsWire and The Australian newspaper said the intercepted men were believed to be heading for Bondi from the city of Melbourne, almost 550 miles away in Victoria state.

No arrests were announced, though photos from the scene showed men sitting on the ground as officers moved around them. Police said seven men were "assisting police with their inquiries."
