Army Reserve Restructuring

Yes it was reversed after I handed over command as the person who implemented it as a Maj (after convincing the Bde Comd it was a great deal) became the CO of one of the Units that had to live with it. Surprise, she thought it was great when it wasn't her problem, but apparently it sucked when it was her problem.

I know who you're talking about lol ;)

One of the obvious things I didnt even think about that the army is doing to add depth to the reserves is brining back the Admin coys for units. This will expand CSS is the ARes, give first line support the units again, and allow ARes units to actually train with integrated CSS
A proper admin troop per Armoured Sqn wouldnt be too hard to pull off, the issue would be kit ultimately. Need more trucks.

LVM is a rather large vehicle. LVM light is not a very good echelon vehicle unless your entire troop are NBA height.
I would agree, our vehicles are to tall, however I'd question if LUV replacement will cover the needs of a admin coy fully

When I talked to UofM they didn't. Are about where I had done work or where id gone to school. Just looked at equivalencies. People tra sfer provinces for school all the time, and take credits from UofA to Memorial.

Does any school certify their graduates' work? Where that is deemed necessary professional societies step in.

And usually one province's accreditation is recognized across borders for an administrative fee.

probably not many, if you look and those side decks on reserve ES and TES, certain geo areas have a hard time attracting people, Manitoba and and sask for example have struggled for over a decade. Even my units own attempt to stand up a platoon in lethbridge AB has seen almost 0 growth.
The Brigade Recruiting Groups have been an abject failure in 38 CBG. Very little growth. Hard to attract people with ancient, broken kit too - I know, Ive been helping our recruiter for years at this point.

3 is definitely getting dusted off, I wonder who the armoured regiment in shilo will be, Fort Gary Horse? The light battalions are also pulled away from the Regiments and formed into one in the modernization plan, return of the Canadian Guards Regiment?
The 1 FGH guidon is still laid up in the MB legislature. The current FGH has had several names since the war, including 2 FGH, FGH(M) for militia and now just FGH. Good candidate for reactivation with the guidon still being around.

Disagree. Can it carry a DOS? Looks like it. I'll take at least 5 as a Cav Sqn Admin Sgt, cans/POL x 2, ammo x 2, rats/water. Ill take 7 if I can have them for the slowpack.

I'm not commenting on storage capacity.

I'm commenting on the deck being over 6' in the air.

It's fine for lines of communication transport. OK for ammo when you're dumping.

But if you really need MHE for loading / unloading, then it's not an optimal platform for first line.

At the end of the day, its no different than an MSVS MILCOT height wise. We manage delivery points and romeo romeos no problem with those. Since we dont have enough of those around and the MSVS SMP is a piece of shit and reg only, Ill gladly take whatever I can get.

Besides the size I haven't heard too much about the SMP being disliked from RegF CSS side of the house. It is a pretty capable vehicle if huge AF

First hand experience is theyre not good when Ive worked with them in an armoured A1/A2 ech context. Terrible to put into a hide due to the size, vulnerable to damage of important systems like airlines in tactical scenarios and a truck that leaks a variety of fluids when it gets cold due to seal shrinkage probably shouldnt have been bought for Canadian winters. Thats what you get when you choose French for design haha. Maintainers I talk to about them hate them.

Hmmm will follow up with the folks I know (OC and SNCOs/WOs that run CSS orgs) and the CA G4 maint team but in general those are not concerns that have heard before. Not saying they don't exist just anecdotal is not always evidence. In any case if there are issues, while I can't help much, am positioned to give the info to those that can.

Good stuff man! I wont go any further so I dont doxx myself lol

Everything's basically up in size. LVM light is basically the size of a ML, heavy is the size of a super heavy.

Find memories of the engineer SEV MLVW, with a heater in the back and a pile of cam nets to sleep on during a road move.
