Do you have a source for that? You’ve signed up on this site in the past half hour, with a username based off his name, immediately posting a claim that he was shot three times. Clearly you have a reason for doing so. Can you please be transparent about where you’re sourcing your claim from?FYI - This was Pte (William) Fletcher who passed away while on a training exercise at CFB Borden with RCEME. William Wallace Malcolm Fletcher | Beechwood
He was found with 3 rounds to his chest (223 rounds found near his body).
I'll echo this.Do you have a source for that? You’ve signed up on this site in the past half hour, with a username based off his name, immediately posting a claim that he was shot three times. Yes, I have direct knowledge of the case. The military did not want anyone to know how Pte (William) Fletcher passed away and did not want it known that there were 223 rounds found at the scene. As you can see from the initial news and statements from the Military, they never released his name. The email account tied to my username is my account.Do you have a source for that? Ok, but what I asked is your source for this information? Anyone can claim to have direct knowledge but what sort of documented source do you have for these claims? Because what you’re alleging suggests, at minimum, manslaughter with non-CAF ammunition. I doubt RCEME would be doing much in terms of dynamic/field firing ranges at CFB Borden. You have made an extraordinary claim and it requires some pretty extraordinary evidence to back it. You also have not stated your purpose in posting this.Yes, I have direct knowledge of the case. Are you saying it was a C7?I fully know the difference between .223 and 5.56. That's one of the interesting facts about this death. The NATO standard for the C7 is 5.56
What parts of the investigation were mishandled? From my personal knowledge the investigation was not done properly
Are you saying it was a C7? There were 4 C7's at the Scene and one was found by the deceased.
What parts of the investigation were mishandled?
Are you sure you posted the correct link? I'm missing the connection between your assertions and the cited case. The investigators leapt to a conclusion before seeing/hearing all the evidence. Evidence at the scene was not collected properly and some of it not at all. The Military investigation was conducted in an amateur's way. The highest ranking NIS was removed from the case less then 3 months into the investigation due to the following ruling
I think they are saying that the lead investigator was one of the people named in that case, and was removed from the investigation as a result of the other case. Are you sure you posted the correct link? I'm missing the connection between your assertions and the cited case.
Certainly possible. Are you basing your information on talking to the family or have you seen investigation reports here? The investigators leapt to a conclusion before seeing/hearing all the evidence. That is correct. My opinion is that it showed what type of investigator he was.I think they are saying that the lead investigator was one of the people named in that case, and was removed from the investigation as a result of the other case.
