Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

He was always there. Just filtered through media.
... A CPC that represent his ideals is always going to be on its back foot against the Canadian media, not to mention the Canadian electorate.
Was it the same media that was filtering during that bit (approximately September 2022 through around March 2025) where Team Blue was way ahead in the polls, too? ;)

Is there any actual evidence of malfeasance, or evidence of exceptional performance relative to any other company? 2 minute google search shows that Brookfield Corporation and Brookfield Asset Management combined would be the 3rd largest Canadian firm by market cap. They're in the top ten for assets under management in Canada, with broad portfolios. Any positive news and growth for Canada would benefit them, the same as every other major bank and asset manager.

But if you want to get real into the weeds, Brookfield Corporation is down 6.8% YTD and and Brookfield Asset Management is down a little more than 11%. I don't know how that squares with gangbusters. Please share actual evidence of corruption (are trade deals which the majority of Canadians have been asking for corruption because a major financial player may theoretically benefit like literally every major financial player?). Or try to back away from the cancer of tribalism in politics, which I'm convinced is 90% of the reason for his harshest critics on here hating on him. If he were blue they'd be singing his praises and we can all do better to be aware of that and try to be more objective.

EDIT: YTD was probably a poor choice since it's only the beginning of march. Brookfield Corporation is actually up over 7% over the last year, though BAM is down even more, 15% over the last year.
of course there is no evidence of malfeasance. I wouldn't expect there to be apparent evidence even if there was some skullduggery. Both Brookfield and Carney have been around far too long to get caught up in that kind of scandal. The fact that Brookfield has numerous lobbyists working Ottawa who have been in direct contact with Carney on several occasions is just smoke, the result of their being old business mates wanting to meet over a social drink, and events are pure coincidence if they work in Brookfield's favour. But if all of the liberal (do nothing wrong) group can spend their time castigating Pierre when the very leader they are fawning over is drawing heavily from the conservative platform and rising in the polls as a direct result then I am certainly entitled to create my own rumours regarding the lack of moral turpitude evidenced (to my mind which is all that counts) by his actions: in particular with reference China and news where Brookfield's name just happens (strictly coincidental I am sure) to come up. As far as hating the man, consider this: he is a liberal and was chosen by the Laurentian Elite to be the new leader. That group has never changed.

it will definitely help with investor confidence, if even half of these agreements we have signed bare fruit this year, the economy will be in good shape
My understanding is even when those agreements are signed, which seems to be the exception rather than the norm, it's just symbolic. Nothing about them is legally binding in any sence.

MOUs are never legally binding usually, its a notice of intent essentially

Did you really think that a signed trade deal just happens with a visit?
I think there's been a whole bunch of broken promises over the last 10 and 20 years.

Being proud of Carney for "doing something" that amounts to a pinky promise is silly. Celebrate when there's a deal.

Building a house is good. Building a fake construction site to do a video about your promsie to build houses is theatrics. Aren't you tired of the theatrics?

No, I’m not.
Because if you think PP could have achieved more in the same timeframe, I’ve got a condo in downtown Toronto to sell you.

Gotta start somewhere. I'm happy trade and development is being announced as opposed to sunny ways, regardless of whether it comes from Mr. Carney, Mr. Poilievre, or Ronald MacDonald.

Things like this lead me to believe its more than just theatrics.

Some Deputy shuffling, including some moves in Defence:

Carney shakes up senior ranks of the public service

Kevin Brosseau, who was named Canada's fentanyl czar in February 2025, is keeping that role but is also being made the senior associate deputy minister of national defence and commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard.

In a statement the Prime Minister's Office said the "leadership changes support the strong, effective delivery of priorities and results for Canadians, while positioning the federal government to advance Canada's interests and respond to the rapidly shifting dynamics of the global landscape."

The role of National Security and Intelligence Advisor got downgraded a bit.

A DM was appointed to get the new Financial Crimes Agency off that ground; that’s to be a law enforcement agency that will take a sizable chunk of large scale financial crime from the Mounties and will work it with a dedicated agency. If they pull it off that’ll be a good thing.

I’m actually glad we finally have leader who is trying to get things done and not playing stupid games.

We just need an official opposition to do the same and we might actually have a serious parliament for once
