Trump administration 2024-2028

At the end the day, the daily lives of lower middle class to middle class families are being f*cked around by the millionaires on both sides of the aisle.

As a very pro-business individual I do believe that this is the case. The stress that the average TSA worker must be under is no joke. Missed mortgage payments, car payments, having to stand in line for free food and free groceries, not being able to pay the sports fees for your kids or have them attend sport team travel events, possibly having your credit score being wiped out, etc, etc, etc.

Its these issues and everyday examples like this, that are occurring with greater frequency and duration, that highlight why I believe our government system is head and shoulders above the US's.

For a moment there I thought you were talking about Phoenix ;)

Where these protests don’t run more than a day at a time, I am not sure they will convince Republican & government establishment that the public really demands change. They are drawing some big names to the events though.

Meanwhile...

Clearly what the struggling farmers want/need.

Eggs are $3.99 a dozen but you need to pay an extra $10 for a peek at where they came from.

“The one thing about farmers, they don’t care about that weather.”

Most farmers care very much about the weather.

I thought it curious that someone decided a Fendt tractor was a good choice. While US owned now, it is originally a German company. Why not dyed in the wool American originals like John Deere or CaseIH? I suspect someone figured the 'dt' in the name would catch the boss' eye.

And more importantly it comes in the colour gold , apparently.

And the impact of Japan’s ownership of US debt equivalent to the U.S.’ cost of financing its entire debt and the interest rate split about to close due to Japanese economic inflation due to the restrictions of its oil from the ME. Japan may be fixed by economics to sell a not insignificant amount of its holdings of US Treasuries.

I'll put just this out there for those who I know will take the time to read it.

I Spent Decades Working with American Officials. The Country I Knew Is Gone

The world will need to adjust to a less dominant United States

by Thomas A. Bernes

This part at the end:

“The question is no longer whether American primacy will continue—it will not. The question is whether enough countries, including the United States, will recognize that in a multipolar world, the alternative to rules is not freedom of action but permanent instability.”

Carney figured this out a while ago. The rest of the world is finally seeing it as well.

This earlier post (also at the Walrus) by Patrick Lennox, is as just, if not more relevant:

This makes 36 Republicans who are choosing not to run again later this year for mid-terms. This is also the most retirements since 1930.

Sam Graves pulls reelection plans, will retire from Congress

And how is the President doing, 1 year in?

And not much better on a poll FOX commissioned, and has spent the day avoiding talking about.

59% disapprove.

Meanwhile, the march towards the Chinese century continues.

Interesting chart when you see the drop during Republican presidency years, an upsurge during Obama, a weak temporary stabilization during Biden's disintegrating at the end and a jump off the cliff during Trump's two turns. There was a time when Republican administrations brought stability. Long gone.

Trip to Boston went fine, despite the best efforts of our loosehead.

In all honesty the Boston team was some what surprised to hear many Canadians didn't want to come hence our struggle for numbers.

All in all, great trip as Boston usually is.

Very happy to hear!
Hope you handed their asses to them in a few of the games and were able to enjoy a few pints of the black as well.
