Not an uncommon fraud.
Years ago I worked at a hardware store with very liberal return policies. One manager was lead away in handcuffs; he had been taking merchandise off the shelf, walking it to the returns counter, saying he didn't have a receipt and taking the refund in cash.

A Durham Regional Police officer entered a guilty plea to assaulting children known to him. He then spent the summer as a coach at a kid's hockey camp.

I worked with a long time social worker who observed that, no surprise, if you want to find alot of pedos just hang around kids' programs....

Oh hell no... the stats are compelling and very creepy.
Scouting, Cadets, sports, schools etc etc, the whole system is rife with pedos - men and women.

From the last 16 years of my career I worked in a treatment jail, I can assure you that is factual.
Please don't think this applies to all who run kids programs, but just a reason to watch closely, and not use them as a place to dump children for a couple hours.

The veteran officer was found guilty of one count of discreditable conduct in March 2025. Disciplinary headings had begun in August 2022.

She’s in robbery now, one count of discreditable conduct with these particulars aren’t going to corner her career wise beyond people rolling their eyes at her
