Looking for Information on Sergeant Wayne Chapman, RCD, stationed in Lahr

Hello everyone, I apologize if this isn't aloud or the norm, Im looking for photos, Information, or even funny stories of my Opa, Sergeant Wayne Chapman. He passed away in 1990 from lung cancer. Unfortunately I never got to meet him, and my oma doesn't have a lot of his military photos. I'm just curious to learn more about him, what he did, his role in the RCD, and in Lahr. My oma told me he was a tank commander but I'm not sure if it's true, he did have tank trophy's however and medals. I know he was a Dragoon and a Hussar at one point, and that's about it. I was told he was well liked in the community. I named my first son after his tank, Leo, Oma said the Centurion and the Leopard are what he was in. I'd also like to learn about his placement in the battle order so I can try and make a replica of his tanks, like my father was 11C in 1 RCR, but I dont know anything of Opa, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! I seen someone here named Fishbone Jones mentioned him and my great uncle Rick Crooks in the colorful characters section, I also ran into a few lads playing a table top tank game downtown Kingston, Ontario who knew him but I lost contact with them unfortunately

Wayne and I were in the same Squadron in 79 (Recce Sqn); but we were in different troops, and we didn't hang out together.
I looked through all of my old Springboks (the RCD annual publication), and I found one picture of Wayne, but it is very low resolution, and he is barely recognizable. In 1980 we were in different Squadrons, so we only served in the same Sqn for one year.

You can't say I didn't try!

Have you thought about requesting his military service records? Most of the information you could receive may be pretty dry and impersonal but might clarify when and where he served.

Thank you so much! That's actually really cool, so in 1979 you were both recce ? I honestly didn't even know that about him so that's very helpful ! I have a feeling the photo isn't digital so taking a photo of it and uploading it would probably further reduce the quality. It makes me really happy others are remembering him, I asked my oma again today about if she had anything she said she will look again but she doesn't think so

At this point any information is good information, plus I was also looking to make some models of his tanks so the unit information would definitely help with that, however hearing he was recce might change things up
