Sure, same as any majority government of any stripe. In present circumstances I’m more concerned with movement on the economic development, natural resources, national defence, and international relations files.

That feels like we’re normalizing the erosion of transparency. And that transparency seems pretty important when it comes to files like economic development, natural resources, national defence, and international relations.

More a matter of acknowledging it eroded a few decades ago. Do I like it? No. Do I think the other guy would do better? Not a chance. If neither variable presents a different output, my focus shifts to other variables.

I’m thankful too. I said some months back that the political apparatchiks supporting him must have been screaming at him to call one. I remain glad he didn’t. I’m glad he’s kept working Parliament as it, and I have no time for those who say he hasn’t earned it legitimately.

I will say it again. Carney needs at least 2 years if not 3 years for us to decide if he is the leader Canada needs. Carney says adieu to carbon capture and speeds oil pipelines right up, man, he goes up in points in my books.
I am very happy about defence so far (although the fighter jet replacement will be an interesting sideshow) and I actually fear the CPC will cut some of the defence spending down (can not say for sure but a hunch).

In my experience, anyone promising the “most transparent government ever” ends up making it the most secretive government ever, only to be outdone by their successors, who promised more transparency.
