While Canadians is the term for those with Canadian citizenship.

So if it’s appropriation of America, that ship sailed, the 250th isn’t exactly any chance of that changing - with or without the current POTUS.

Obviously it's not going to change, never said it would. Just pointed out the fact that America is the name of the continent and that anyone in North or South America could be rightly called an American. BTW, you all down there in the United States have US citizenship, not American citizenship, right? Anyway, doesn't matter, you all will continue to use the word like it's exclusively applies to the US.

Right, because DOGE totally went after the right people in terms of job cuts, and totally saved the US budget as advertised.

Meanwhile the USA is killing many more civilians than usual in its conflicts and their food contamination is throught the roof.

DOGE is a cautionary tale

You don't save a lot, and where you cut you see the effects in lives and health not too long afterwards.

We need discipline, from politicians, pundits, providers, procurers, and punters (the voters) alike. And no, this is not about which colour car you drive. Red or Blue, all have demonstrated an inability to show discipline.

The last time we had disciplined government was the Chretien, Harper, Martin era. Then we became an unserious country full of entitled unserious citizens, led my unseriuos leaders on both side of the aisle.

DOGE like chainsaws are just another performative action with sound and fury signifying nothing.

They actually are. There is (or was) a rotation of Depts that would have to pony up 5% or their baseline funding. I fear that this may have fallen out of favour / usage, based solely on the massive growth of the PS.

A new review by the U.S. Government Accountability Office found the site's claim of $110 billion in taxpayer savings was vastly inflated and unreliable.

The report found DOGE could not provide enough information to verify 96% of its reported savings from canceled grants.

Despite its pledge of transparency, the report found DOGE did not use its stated methodology to calculate about half of the savings it reported.

“Because U.S. DOGE Service officials did not respond to requests for information, GAO could not determine the reasons why DOGE did not disclose data quality issues and limitations when the website first went live or at any time since then,” the report said.

The report also found DOGE failed to terminate some of the contracts it claimed to have canceled. According to the report, $27.4 billion in claimed savings was never executed, and DOGE did not provide identifying information for another $7.2 billion in claimed savings.


DOGE also claimed $1.7 billion in savings from an IT services contract for the Defense Department's Defense Health Agency, but the report said no changes were ever made.

Given that Musk is the one that proposed the establishment of DOGE, I believe that it was established with one purpose in mind, which is the harvesting of data, including the personal data of all US citizens and data related to industrial competitors, and the establishment of backdoors that would allow him to have continued unfettered access to said data.

It had nothing to do with efficiency, because that was merely the cover story.

Hmm. You would jump on the throat of other posters for such a lack of precision in their language. What is that old saw again? Don't demand of others what you won't demand of yourself?

I get it that a a self-identified Private "just out of basic" working at 2 CMBG HQ and Sigs may not have encountered that saying in a military setting, but perhaps you encountered it elsewhere?
