Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

She’s in robbery now, one count of discreditable conduct with these particulars aren’t going to corner her career wise beyond people rolling their eyes at her
Proven history of improperly accessing information to pursue a personal vendetta without remorse does not build credibility.

It won’t hurt it. I’ve yet to see a McNeil impact anything outside of CDSA investigations. There are cops that are not allowed to touch criminal cases because crown won’t prosecute a file with their name on it- but if she isn’t in that position no one is going to care. Especially if the conduct finding isn’t worded in a way that makes it applicable to disclosure or it’s determined to be irrelevant,

I worked with a long time social worker who observed that, no surprise, if you want to find alot of pedos just hang around kids' programs....
Keep in mind that officer was charged with assault of children, not sexual assault. Very different charges.

That could be as simple as spanking or cuffing a kid who is acting up. Could also be as extreme as beating a kid. Not appropriate these days but I am sure most of us on here received such treatment growing up.

1 Count of breach if trust, probably out in less than a year. Not bad considering what he was facing.
Probably they wanted the easy plea deal rather than having to litigate such an extensive undercover operation, and argue against defence claims of entrapment. Most of his criminality occurred in controlled circumstances that were created by the undercover team.

I’ve heard murmuring in the past of the Anticorruption Unit the RCMP have out in BC. Small and tight team, they work pretty exclusively on serious police corruption files. They’re no joke.

My uncle was in an anti corruption team in Toronto in the late 70s early 80s. Fascinating stories. Essentially they were eligible for bank pulls and phone taps on themselves at all times. Worked completely insulated from the org- loaned out from their agency and moved into a provincial structure. Super interesting relationships with management and unions. I’m sure the practices have changed dramatically- this was all powered by the 60s and 70s corruption out of NYC

I’ve also heard of this BC unit but never had any look into the mechanics of it- always interesting though. fascinating world I have no understanding of

What if you blow .26? While carrying your service weapon? While driving your patrol vehicle? On duty?

Seventeen year Georgian Bay OPP officer Christopher Prout was sentenced in court, following a joint submission, to a $3000 fine and a two year driving ban. With criminal proceedings resolved, he may now face charges under Ontario's Police Services Act.

Another failed attempt to "go big or go home"?
