Do you think we can survive 3 years of this government, without irreparable damage to the citizens of this country? Debt, price of groceries, fuel, manufacturing (if there are any factories left), lack of housing, etc. None of these things are getting better, they are getting far worse at increasing speed. And I don’t see this government doing very much about it. Sure, they say new equipment for the military, which we sorely need. New pipelines, opening the Arctic and so on. I am completely jaded on governments, ours and everyone elses. Toothless opposition parties that impotent of taking those governments down. Carney flew in from his Italian vacation, blew up the trade deal and got back on the plane for a trip to France and consult with his EU cronies. I don’t want to give him 3 years. I don’t even want them for 3 more weeks. In 2024, U.S. goods and services trade with Canada totaled an estimated $909.1 billion. Canada exported over three-quarters of its goods to the U.S., and imported almost half of its goods from the U.S. We are not, if ever, going to reach that level of trade with the EU, even if we include Asia and its neighbours. I doubt if we can even diversify enough to save the next generation.

Another rather dirty reason I WANT the Liberals to stay in charge is exactly what is happening now, the Canadians that can't think for themselves and get all worked up over the orange man (and completely ignore failed Liberal governing), need to sit and stew in their own filth and stench. Canada needs to feel this rot creep right in. One of two things will happen, we will wake the fuck up and stop believing Liberal BS, even if St Carney is still around or we will see ALberta, Saskatchewan possibly Quebec seperate. And thats her, the nation will in my opinion collapse.

I am hoping my wife and I can get a good price on our farm and migrate south to the US. They don't fuck over business community down there (not nearly as bad as our government).

The fact you say that frankly outrageous statement is peak irony considering your fellow ranchers in the States just got turbofucked by the current administration by undercutting them with hundreds of thousands of tonnes of potentially tainted, South American beef. Oh boy, this is shaping up to become a real mess. People are receiving their mail-in packages with multiple missing ballots (there are 10 total) and the deadline to apply to get special ballots has been moved up from October 9th to September 25th.

This in it self should be cause to put the entire vote on hold. If they cant even get advanced voting right. How much do you wanna bet there are issues on voting day with this? Polling stations missing ballots? Etc

I'll likely ask questions about this when I go for my training sessions next week. I'm scheduled to work at advance voting places (which are held the week before the referendum day) and on the day will be on the counting team (currently scheduled to work from 4PM to 4AM). The special ballots (mail-in) and advance ballots (in-person at early voting locations) as well as any regular ballots from voting places that have to be vacated (there are a few in our area) before a complete count can be made of all ballots for all questions will be counted at a central location by dedicated counting teams.

With the number of mail-in packages that have been requested, my expectation is that there will be a large turn-out at both advance and regular voting. I also expect that there will be a greater number of individuals showing up at a voting place who requested a mail-in package wanting to vote claiming that they didn't make use of the mail-in ballot. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are trying to double vote, but there are procedures in place to identify who requested mail-in ballots as well as to permit those who did not make use of them to vote (and to catch those who lie). During the federal election last year, there was only one person (out of more than a couple thousand) who showed up at my voting location in such circumstances. It's not a big thing, but it does add several minutes of additional work to allow that person to vote.
