Next FOMC rate decision is 1400 on Wednesday. I can’t see them not increasing the overnight rate. We’ll see ten year T Bills over 5% by then if not before.How about them Treasury yields?

5 on 10 and 6 on 30 will be interesting. We’ll see if the Mar-a-Lego Accord and treasure forces exchange are enacted in the coming days/weeks for Trump to have something ‘positive’ to say before the mids.

US 10yr bond at 5% this morning.
CAD is falling against USD as a result of the implied US 1/4 rate increase that may occur on Wednesday. This will make CDN exports cheaper to the US and US exports to Canada (and around the world) more expensive, driving up the US trade deficits.

Don't worry, the US doesn't need Canadian imports. Like our main one, oil. They're completely fine down south.

Read a report that the oil gains in selling to the US has more than offset the losses of our other exports. Overall the trade deficit with them will most likely increase in 2026 as a result.
