Berets vs. ball caps, which do recruits wear?

Yep, it is an RMC reference, and we still get it a lot, like when we're going to win the Cmdt's Cup at the end of the semester, one will likely hear many shouts of from the rest of thw wing to the effect of "Stone Boats don't float".  We just suck it up b/c we know know other sqn comes close to...

    The current navy uniform

Does anyone know when abouts the navy stopped wearing handkerchiefs (sp?) in what I assume is a handkerchief pocket on our tunics, or reefer jacket (for sailing instructor ;) ) ? I'm working on the Battle of the Atlantic for my military history class, and most of the pics I see of officers of...

    question about the navy uniform

I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm hi-jacking commandeering (better naval term :D) this one. Alors, my fellow RMC NCDT's and I are now entitled to slap on our maritime badges. I came across one which I've never seen before, and I'm wondering if it is indeed permitted for wear?? ...

    More $$ for RMC students...?

They make the same. ROTP is ROTP, doesnt matter where you are.

    More $$ for RMC students...?

I'm maybe grossly mistaken, but I thought all UTPNCM's transfered from a Reg F NCM position?  If that is the case, I would assume it's simply a component transfer or something very siimilar that took place, which would explain why you keep your former pay. Also the tiny fact that UTP's have...

    More $$ for RMC students...?

Writing skills, you bet they are! Fortanatley for me, since this is not being 'graded', and it's around 12"00 midnight, after completeing my duty shift, and a longer then usual day of school,  I'm not too worried about proof reading..it's readable. My apologies that you had to trudge. I shall...

    More $$ for RMC students...?

Well, the latest and biggest hype going around the college today goes as follows: Supposedly, if one was in the Res. F before becoming an OCdt and transfering to Reg. F to come to RMC, one is now entitled to the balance of money one would have made if still a reservist. It supposedly all...

    Paying Compliments (Saluting, Verbal Address)

Last time I checked, a 2Lt. holds a Queen's commission...not saluting them is just plain wrong :o Whether they've been a 2Lt. for 10 mins or 10 yrs., one must remember the act of saluting is to demonstrate ones alliegance and loyalty to the Sovergien, and not so much as to the individual officer...

    New RMC duty dress?

short, as of 1 Jan 06, RMC dry cleaning no longer accepts anything DEU (save for the CMC (navy) great coat. Therefore, the cost of dry cleaning DEU items now falls onto the individual OCdt.

    New RMC duty dress?

I like the current duty dress the way it is. Yes, it does cost a little more in dry cleaning, but that would be just the battle blouses, b/c we'd need to keep the pants anyways for wear with scarlets and patrol blues. The college should just build its own dry cleaning facility, IMO ;D

Traditional Beret Colours and thoughts on the tan beret?

Forage caps...sorry, it always get to me. and I think they look pretty sharp, but I'm pretty sure there's a huge thread on forage cap opinion around here somewhere...

    Oh, to be Danish..... *sigh*

How come the navy has as many officers and NCOs? or am I reading that wrong?

Cadets Joining the Reserves - Can it be Both?

By signed on, I meant from the CCM's point of view. The CO of the camp in conjunction with the Regional Cadet HQ create a staff slate every year for positions that need to be filled, and while they may be 'tasked' from their unit to work at a particular CSTC, they are more or less 'signed on' to...

Cadets Joining the Reserves - Can it be Both?

Dear GO!!!, Here is what I wrote: Every summer at Cadet Summer Training Centre's across the country, Res F/Reg F NCMs and occasionally officers are signed on as instructors/advisors for the duration of the camp. All the way from Pte's to CWO's. And here's what you wrote. Other then...
