32 Combat Engineer Regiment Any Members?

Hey Canuck10, I've sent you a PM with contact details for 32 CER's Recruiting NCO. He should be able to answer your questions. Good luck with your application process!

Reserves Combat Engineer, the recruiting video vs reality

It's getting a bit off topic(my apologies), but the short answer is yes on their dress uniform. I'm more about the exercises :) Regarding the OP's post, it's the things like monthly exercises, trades course, Stalwart Guardian, or the occasional tasking where we do most of the stuff in the...

Reserves Combat Engineer, the recruiting video vs reality

SATS is a small arms training simulator consisting of a large screen and weapons hooked up to co2. I've seen it simulate a shooting range of varying distances and a variety of scenarios, from game-like enemy figures to actors/actresses. I've never seen these used while I was in the room, but I...

Reserves Combat Engineer, the recruiting video vs reality

From a 32 CER standpoint, we sure can take the parachute course if there are spots available and offered to us. I'm not sure how often we get these opportunities, but last summer we had 2 (I think 3?) troops attend Basic Para; a Sapper and a MCpl (and a Cpl if I was right about the 3). I was...

Reserves Combat Engineer, the recruiting video vs reality

dece74, Our past few exercises have been working toward the Summer exercise where we'll be working with 31 CER and 33 CER. The last time we built a bridge was late last Fall, here in Toronto. Yes, it was mostly manual labour with multiple guys lifting as a team. As the above members mentioned...

To be Applicant! Also, New To the Forum

Welcome to the forums Taylor! Don't let the wait times discourage you and apply anyway when you're eligible. Just keep working hard both at school and in the gym so when the time comes for you to apply (and while you go through the recruiting process), you won't need to stress out about your...

Would being in the reserves help me toward my future in the forces?

TheHunter, I had some difficulty trying to understand your intentions especially given your thread title. Give the experienced forum members more to work with so they can help you find the answer you're looking for. If you at least narrow down what you'd like to do in the Reserves, the website...

    Interview form?

Kyle, I brought a portfolio for my reserve interview. They looked at it, but it wasn't necessary in the end (in my case). Besides, I felt more confident knowing I was prepared rather than walking in with nothing. Forgive me for assuming, but based on the way you posed your question, I urge you...

The Reserve Thread- A Merged Collection of Q & A's

I'm open to corrections, but I don't see why not since I applied to 2 trades for the Reserves earlier this year after speaking with their recruiters both in person. The important part as others have mentioned is to ensure the units you're interested in have spots open.

    Credit Reports (Free)

This is great DAA, thanks. For some reason I thought obtaining credit reports were looked down upon. I've had a credit card company send me a new card without telling me why until I called them. This should be helpful to some applicants as you've pointed out in another thread.

    Recruiting Process/Medical Standard questions.

Are you talking about Reg force or Reserves? The length of the recruiting process is not guaranteed because, as you correctly said, it varies for everyone. For what it's worth, I applied for Reserves in Toronto this February and I've got Medical in April. I can't answer your question regarding...

    Military Police Assessment Centre (MPAC)

Amber, if you don't mind me asking, what was your eyesight prior to your laser surgery? While both you and Shuck are much farther than me in the process, I think I'm barely (hopefully) hanging to V3 by a thread. Sorry for bringing the topic off tangent for a bit.
