Sexual Assault & Sexual Misconduct in the CF

So we should prohibit any relationship between serving members if they are of different rank? We would have to dismiss so many people that we may as well disband the military... Clearly you haven't thought this through.

Engine Room Fire in HMCS Protecteur

Excellent point, perhaps it is proof that there is a reason why we train: so that when it's real, we can deal with it safely and effectively.

Engine Room Fire in HMCS Protecteur

Warships are dangerous, old warships especially so. Fires happen on ships at sea, that is why we spend so much time and effort to train the crew in firefighting and damage control. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone who has ever been onboard the tanker before...

"The starting salary may be higher" What does it mean?

When I joined as a DEO, my platoon on BMOQ had 9 other people on it the exact same trade. Some of us were fresh out of university, some had worked in industry or other fields for a varying number of years prior to joining. We all started at the same rank, but not all at the same incentive level...

    seaman's knife?

This is what divers on the ship use and it seems to work great for them: Titanium Dive Knife Serrated on one side, flat on the other, tanto tip so it's hard to accidentally stab yourself, titanium blade will never rust, and the clips mean you will never drop it by accident. I've used it for...

    Physical Fitness on Ships

You should be able to continue that at sea, there are always guys doing insanity or p90x or whatever in the hanger/flightdeck/anywhere there is room. A few years ago on MON there was a LS who was training for an Ironman while being 1 in 2. 5 hour watch, work out 5 hours, 7 hour watch, 7 hours...

From one new member to the others....

I think maybe you misunderstood those. As a starting point, people who are new to the military or this forum should listen to the senior member who have 20+ years of service, guaranteed they know what they are talking about and most new members do not, so talk less and listen more. Same thing...

    MARS Occupation Manager

Sounds mostly right, NOC will be no more after the last course in January, and OPME is ending as well, it is being replaced with correspondence courses called CFJODP - Canadian Forces Junior Officer Development Program.
