Curious to hear your opinion. What are the best and worse parts of this policy?
Some of the incentives look encouraging. Bonuses for years of service would seem to perpetuate the problem of retaining the wrong people too long though (but I guess we have bigger problems than that...
Does this not strike anyone as a flippant thing for the minister to say in this way at that venue? He’s not exactly managing expectations very well, hope he delivers but seems premature if he hasn’t dotted his i’s or crossed his t’s. We’ll see I guess, I hope my pessimism is proven wrong.
This is a common opinion that I think seriously underestimates the sophistication of Quebecers, separatists and the Bloc. I’ll concede that I’m not an expert but as a BC boy who’s on his third posting to Valcartier, I think their understanding and nuance on politics is better than in the rest of...
Good question, the press releases say that the first aircraft (F35, P8, MQ-9B) are being delivered 2026-2028. You would think some semblance of a capability would need to be in place before. The way it’s being discussed in this thread by experienced people and the lack of evidence of a tangible...
Is this direction from higher or this is just you? I guess you probably won’t have to cross this bridge since they don’t want to visit and don’t have any official business to enter a restricted area so easy to refuse. Curious if you have sought concurrence on this policy from...
The article mentions Iran/Houthi weapon flow so some pretty valuable stuff to protect on one side, and to capture on the other. Seems like they were ready for a fight and that firepower was a priority.
RIP
Why do you want to know, so you can discredit whatever he says or make ad hominem attacks?
Voting for PP/CPC isn’t exactly the bastion of strength either. If you think this interview reflected positively on PP, great. From his comments at the end of the interview I think he knows he reached too...
Darn it, my bad. The wording got me hook, line, and sinker. Should have looked into it more.
So MPs get 3% accrual rate per year service and prior to 2016 it was payable at 55yo unreduced (65yo now)?
Interesting way of interpreting it, not sure the majority of the population would agree though. I think they might get some traction seeing he was eligible for a full pension at 31. I understand your point though, and would like to see some fiscal responsibility too.
Stupid question, where does the $5B figure come from? I remember the $300M in the DPU but haven’t seen anything else official. The first post seems like a click baity website.
PS- going on 10 yrs in Quebec City, from BC. Wouldn’t change a thing.
