The War in Ukraine

From the article:

This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign and prosperous Ukraine over the long term,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement. “President Trump envisioned this partnership between the American people and the Ukrainian people to show both sides’ commitment to lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine.”

He added: “And to be clear, no state or person who financed or supplied the Russian war machine will be allowed to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine.”

I’ll believe it when I see it actually play out that way for real.

I am pretty sure China was in Ukraine prior to the latest hostilities developing tech and exploring minerals. Things might get real interesting in the coming months over this deal.

Remember deals don’t have to last forever. As the US has proven they can be cancelled at any time. The 1994 Budapest memorandum being a great example.

If it helps Ukraine get a favourable peace and allows them to position themselves to prevent future Russian invasions then unfortunately that is the sacrifice that must be made. Who knows in 5 years the war could be over, Ukraine could have rearmed themselves with modern equipment and manufacturing facilities needed to supply them so they won't have to be dependent on anyone for their protection.

At that point they wouldn't have to follow anything unfavourable, just like how China ripped up the 50 year deal for Hong Kong, what was the UK going to do about it besides register a weak diplomatic protest?

We have video now. By the looks of it, they were caught with pants completely off. AI tracking seems to have come further along as well, I believe that's one of the crew it locks onto near the end.

beautiful happy endings GIF

Beauty of a SAM trap.
Watching the video the jet made no attempt to evade or deploy counter measures, which is odd. Perhaps the pilot had been overwhelmed by the data feeding into him? Dozens of radar contacts etc, rookie pilot?

That Trump and his oligarchs are going start bleeding Ukraine dry? Or am I missing something.
To be fair, bleeding Ukraine absolutely dry was on the US foreign policy menu long before Trump came on the scene...

The fact that Ukraine is in the absolute dire situation that it's in can't be put on Trump tho.

The 2014 kickoff in Crimea was very well underway before Trump was first elected, and the escalation in 2021 was again outside of Trump years.

Honestly, if Ukraine is going to be bled dry by anyone, it'll probably be Ukraine.

They've been rejected by the EU simply on corruption grounds, and I don't see one wink of effort going into addressing that...if anything it's either stayed the same or even gotten worse.

And if recent reports of the cartels sourcing some heavy weaponry from Ukraine pan out to be true (from weapons donated from the US or allied countries) then any further 'being bled dry' will again be of their own doing.

The dire situation ABSOLUTELY can be put on MAGA - which is unduly influenced by Trumps whims and rants. It would have been bad enough if aid had continued and not been blocked for months by Johnson, and the recent cutting if intel and aid resulted in Ukraine having to prematurely withdraw from Kursk.

Sources for your OPINION that Ukraine is doing nothing to address corruption and that the EU rejected them? In fact the corruption index for Ukraine has gotten better since 22/2/22 and is better than Russia, and for that matter the US index has gotten worse.

Conclusion:
(1) Troll - or -
(2) Bot - or -
(3) Misinformed, likely as a result of insufficiently broad and varied information sources.
