And hopefully soon after Seahawks as the Cyclone replacement. Nice win-win way for both sides to get out of the Cyclone.

Interesting ideas emerging for nTACS. Especially if you consider that the only Canadian helicopter builder is the one building the Future Vertical Lift winner in the US. And that program calls for both medium lift and attack-reconnaisance platforms.
i wonder how much pushback in the media there is going to be with these American purchases?

@Retired AF Guy posted back at the end of December that Noah was reporting on his True North Strategic Review substack that it was MH-60M's that we were expected to get.
Which is different than the aforementioned article upthread, which refers specifically only to the nTACS program, which has not designated a specific platform or manufacturer.

The key with getting 'new' helicopters will be to get them used from somewhere else than our southern neighbour.

Y'know, like maybe buying the airframes that the US left behind in Afghanistan? Then we do an 'upgrade' to them?

Or, maybe buy used SH-60s from Australia and refurbish them? Then we're not 'buying american'??

The de-linked article does not identify specifically what type/make of helicopters will be procured.

Aside from what Noah said, the rumint has been that this is part of a deal with Sikorsky to ditch the Cyclone which is also costing them money. So they cut us a deal on Romeos and Whiskeys. They get out of the loss making Cyclone. We get out of the unreliable Cyclone.

Please tell me that we are getting more than 28
