why should they? It isn't as though it won't get done unless they pay for it. The battery plants in Ontario are proof of that. Although perhaps if it didn't cost them decades of time and millions of dollars to get an approval they might be more willing to pony up. In fact they would because they would get it done faster and cheaper and be reaping the benefits a whole lot sooner.

Failure to fulfill the arbitrary desires of governments in the face of their equally arbitrary decisions which impede free market behaviours is not a failure of a free market. Governments impose the structures which provide some of the incentives which drive behaviours.
Regardless, putting private enterprises to task would be closer to fascism than socialism.

"ACUA’s published Pioneer-class specification, laid out in detail by Uncrewed Systems Technology, puts endurance at 18 days on hydrogen and 50 days on diesel, both at an average 4 knots. That is the same boat doing the same job at the same speed, with the fuel as the only variable.
"The fuel cell is not the weak link. Pioneer runs a bespoke 45 kW unit from Nuvera that hits 58% thermal efficiency, against the 50 to 52% ACUA says most fuel cells manage. The problem is what you can physically carry.

The concept of a 'collective' approach to advocacy on the part of all First Nations in BC, all for the common good, is a myth.
In many cases, each band would happily throw their peers under the bus to gain an advantge of some kind.
