Well, I'm sick of the computer crap. I wanted to go 043 during recruiting but it was "closed". Some people say im a nutbar, but i think its what I wanna do. If i could get a general blurb on what you guys do in garrison (even though its probably the same pooch poking we do) and in the field...
Well here goes a Pte's 2 cents.
FN - My dad has one and I've fired it on the civy range so I'm not totally "right out of 'er" about the firing aspect. It puts a good hole in things with more range and is a longer distance weapon. I think with a 6X scope on it, it would be an excellent section...
I was just wondering if MOC's play a role in one's ability to remuster, I've heard this form a number of people but I can't seem to get a straight answer through my chain or the OR. For example going from 215 to 043 and so on. I've heard through the grape vine that I can only go "up "in MOC...
I did one in the reserves that included the fun stuff and one in reg's this past summer that did'nt include anti-armor. I didn't know that changed, I just thought it was a lack of funds on our "in house" soldier qual.
I got to know Carl on my SQ along with the M72 and intro to mortars (no live fire though :'()
Oh, and Danjanou, I realize some exceptions are made, but I was just making a general statement.
Op Athena Theatre Activation Team. I'm not even in an infantry unit, but i did 2 months with no cot. It wouldnt fit in the little bug tents they issued us. It wasnt all that bad though, we got a bunch of over sized pillows and cardboard for underneath. ;D
I may be mistaken, but you seem to be a little high and mighty on the Generals and Field Marshall's glory and not the grunts on the ground winning the fire fights for them.
Hey Joe, that was a little harsh man. He's done some pretty hard core shit too and he's entitled to have his opinion. ...
Actually all branches of the service were at one point given royal ascent. Even today some units still carry it eg "Royal Canadian Regiment" "1.2.5 R.C.H.A" "Royal Canadian Dragoons" and once "Royal Canadian Corps of Sigs".
I was told the exact same thing, and believed it. I had spent a bit of time in the reserves through a co-op program at my high school and had seen several "dirty Jimmy's" running around with radios on thier backs as Pl Sigs. I later found out they were just spare rad ops from the local Comm...
We just had a briefing not too long ago from the branch chief about this actually. He was saying the branch fund is almost totally nil.
But if we had one it would be used for the following:
1)Accouterment's for new apprentices.
2)Museum upkeep as its falling behind annually by about $70, 000...
I agree with that totally
Usually in the army there are many stages of weapons training.
-BMQ usually teaches you the basic service rifle, the C7
-Soldier qualification will teach you the remainder of the small arms C9 LMG C6 GPMG , Carl G 84mm, M72 and C13 grenade
-Battle school (Combat arms...
