    Air Force's CADPAT name-tag & rank

There is a standard, army wear green, air force wear blue. The air force is just addressing the inability to see the rank. Perhaps they should have just stayed with the OD from the beginning - but then we'd be complaining that it didn't match the CADPAT..... ;D

It could never happen here, could it?-Canada a Target?

I'd rather live in a free society that accepts that the cost of freedom will be that a miniscule few will take advantage of that freedom. Anyone that will allow limitations on that freedom without question do not deserve it...IMHO

    Squadrons of the CME

Then I would contend that the tradition is that the Regiment is numbered after the higher headquarters so being changed to its brigade number would be keeping with tradition

What was the background on being called 2 FER?

    Squadrons of the CME

We aren't taking about an Infantry Regiment here, we are talking Engineers...There has been Field Parks, Railroad units, FERs, CERs, Forestry units - All with various names, numbers. I'm not saying you can't have fond memories of a unit you were in. I am pround of my former unit, but tradition...

    Squadrons of the CME

Names and numbers change - I think that the Regiment/ Squadron should reflect the formation that they belong to - That would be the Engineer thing to do (Get it done)

Army not stretched to limit, Layton interprests documents

Why not rotate from Afghanistan to another location? Perhaps longer tours in the places we are. There is a lot of Reservists we could call up. After all, if we are at war, you got to do what you got to do.

Peter Worthington-- Why they are over there

Sorry, but peacekeeping was not the cause for the demise of combat efficiency. It was the years of neglect and lack of training dollars. I never once lost the focus even a peace keeping force may have to do War fighting Ops

    OCdt's vs. Senior NCO's Qualifications

All I can say is an NCO that has SLC (ILQ) and commissions is granted BOTP bypass. If they only have PLQ, they are given IAP bypass only. (this apparently accounts for the CF Leadership side) As far as Trade knowledge, one still has to complete their phases. Its funny that you can have...

Afghan Experience in our Trg System

That I can agree with, I loved the why statement in training being "so you know how to use your rifle and can pass the PWT" thats not it, the reason is so you can kill what you want to kill. This goes as far as explaining to leadership candidates that their inability to grasp the concepts in...

Pardon expected to be sought for Canadian WWI soldiers

What the heck, if they were deemed to be wrong then it needs to be corrected. 'perhaps in 50 years, I'll get a pardon on the parades held in my honour'

Afghan Experience in our Trg System

Well, back to the issue Remember that lessons learned are from the 'last'  battle and don't necessarily belong in doctrine. Some of the issues could be addressed in pre-training for an operation at the unit. What I have a problem with is what do the troops have to know that aren't taught in...

Afghan Experience in our Trg System

I think the experience should stay at the units to train for upcoming operations. Basic and subsequent trades training teach basic skills. Personally, I would rather train to take out a large, organized modernized force and adapt that training to conditions, then only get a piece of the...

Altered War- The Fall-out From The "Doctered" Photos Begins

But how do we know that there were different times? Maybe its a plot by the Media to discredit the other medias and gain a story.
